Cabby tales: I could have raped her

By Tony Ng You could say nothing fazes them - after all, they are 'seen-it-all' Singaporean cabbies. But contact with passengers has its dangers, especially when they come from all walks of life. Taxi operators say that the number of physical assaults against taxi drivers has been increasing. Yet those at the wheel paint another picture entirely. Not all passengers were threatening, according to a couple of taxi drivers HerWorld spoke to. Some encounters could be termed 'memorable'. These include: They stripped down to their bras "I picked up three girls outside a club in the central area of Singapore one night. "They were fairly young, in their early 20s, but they dressed more elegantly than other girls their age so I suspect they could have been escorts. "Five minutes into the journey, one of them told me not to turn around. "I could hear all three girls stripping and changing in my back seat. It took a while, but they weren't shy at all. If I had looked into the rear mirror, I could have seen everything!" I could have raped her "She hopped into my cab one night when the Boat Quay pubs were closing. "The minute she got in, she muttered a condominium's name in the Bukit Merah area and passed out. I couldn't smell alcohol on her so she must have been drugged out on something else. "[This] young and attractive Chinese teenager was sprawled all over the back seat. She had long hair, a face full of makeup and was dressed in just a singlet and short skirt. She barely moved throughout the whole journey! "When I drove her to her condominium, I got out of the cab to wake her up because she didn't respond. She wouldn't budge! I could have raped her and she wouldn't have known! "In the end, I had to carry her to the guardhouse and asked the security guards if they knew where she was staying.
